ARE YOUR ANIMALS BISON OR BUFFALO?
Actually both names are misnomers. Some early Europeans thought that the Tatanka looked like European Oxen, or a Wisent, as a result they called the Tatanka a Bisent or Bison. Other immigrants thought that the Tatanka looked like water buffalo, hence the misnomer, buffalo.
To us, a traditional Native American Family, these magnificent animals will always be Tatanka. However, in order to eliminate as much confusion as possible, we use the word Buffalo.
All Naturally Native Tatanka are 100% Tatanka. We have spent many, many years cultivating a pure bred, healthy herd.
YOU SAY THAT NATURALLY NATIVE BUFFALO ARE 100% GRASS FED. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
All Naturally Native Buffalo are just that, grass fed. We do not feed our animals grains, hormones, steroids or other enhancements or food supplements. Our animals free range on our large, all natural, grass pastures.
On the other hand, many Bison ranchers and feed lots simply feed their captive animals the same diet as they provide to beef cattle. Recent research indicates that animals raised on natural grasses, in a free-range setting provide a superior meat when compared to feed lot, grain-fed animals.
DO YOU USE FILLERS, HORMONES OR OTHER ADDITIVES?
No, we never, ever use any antibiotics, preservatives, fillers or hormones!
ARE YOUR ANIMALS TREATED HUMANELY?
Absolutely! As a traditional, Native American family we fully understand the very powerful relationship between these majestic animals and humans.
